Obituaries

The Association regrets to announce the deaths of the following OldWorcesters:

Ronald Saunders BOLTON (1959 - 61) of Blackpool,
who died on Sunday, 02 November 2008 after a battle with asbestosis.
There are no further details, but it is understood that his funeral has taken place.

Thomas Arthur IRVINE (1939 - 41) of Stittsville, Ontario,
Canada, who died on Monday, 27 October 2008. His funeral,
which was private, took place on Saturday, 01 November 2008.
He is survived by his wife, Rosemary, son Geoffrey and daughter Victoria nad their four grandchildren, Amanda, Jenessa, Thomas and Benjamin.

Donald Malcolm SWETNAM (1949 - 50) of Penzance, Cornwall
in the early hours of Wednesday, 08 October 2008.
The funeral will take place at 1500, on Friday, 24 October, 2008,
at the Trelawney Chapel, Penmount Crematorium, Truro, Cornwall.

His ahes will be scattered at sea at a later date, courtesy of the R.N.L.I., Penzance

The Assopciation regrets to announce the death of the followng Association and Yacht Club member:

Michael John ELL (1952 - 54) of Southend-on-Sea, Essex, who died on 05 June 2008 after a short illness.

The Association regrets to announce the death, at the age of 91, of Terry Parker, former shipwright on the Worcester between 1958 and 1978.  He died suddenly on Tuesday, 01 April.

The Association regrets to announce the death of the following member:

Kester John FIELD (1944 - 46), of Connor Downs, Hayle, Cornwall, who died on Easter Sunday, 23 March 2008 after a long illness terminating in complications following a fall, in which he sustained a broken leg.

Kester was the elder brother of the late Michael FIELD (1947 - 49), who died in 2006.  Both brothers joined the P & O S.N.Co.Ltd on leaving the ship.
